You submitted your best campaigns and initiatives from the past year. You voted on your favorites. And you—and only you—were responsible for choosing the final winners. Now, the results are in and we are thrilled to present the winners of the 13th Annual Pharma Choice Awards.
In all, more than 8,000 votes were cast across our 13 categories: App, Consumer Website, DTC/DTP, Multichannel, Multicultural, Professional Campaign (Print), Professional Website, Sales Aid, Self-promotion, Social Media, Unbranded, Variety, and Video. As always, the top three entries in each category with the most votes are named the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners.
The criteria for deciding the winners are quite simple. We invite any and all of our readers to visit our voting site over the course of November to view the entries and pick the one in each category that wows them. It could be because the creative blows them away, the copy is clever and catchy, the strategy is unlike anything they have seen, or something else about the campaign/initiative just grabs them and won’t let go.
The one quality all of this year’s winners share is the ability to stand out from the crowd. While that is something marketers always strive for, our industry’s creative minds had to reimagine the best ways to achieve that goal over the course of the pandemic as they were forced to change the ways they engage with their audiences. But you just need to flip through the following pages to see the year’s best examples of how marketers crafted campaigns capable of leaving a lasting impression.
As for the winners who perhaps accomplished that best of all, refer to the image at the top of the page. There you will find the four winners who got the most votes across categories. This year, that honor goes to: VMLY&R and AstraZeneca for their “Misty Protectors” Video-winning campaign (pictured: Angela Reith, Associate Director of Marketing, FLUMIST® QUADRIVALENT, AstraZeneca); Intouch Group and Takeda for their Vyvanse Professional Print Campaign (pictured: Susan Perlbachs, Chief Creative Officer, Intouch Group); Mind+Matter, an Ashfield Health Company and Amylyx for their booth that explores exciting new pathways and possibilities for people with ALS in the Unbranded category (pictured: Julianne Dunphy, PhD, Head of Medical Strategy, Mind+Matter, an Ashfield Health Company); and Elevate Healthcare and LivaNova for “The Nerve” in the DTC/DTP category (pictured: Melissa Maten, Associate Creative Director, Copy, Elevate Healthcare).
However, all of the 2021 winners deserve a hearty congratulations for their exceptional creative work. So check each one out, and learn a bit about the creative process behind the campaigns as the teams responsible share how they arrived at these award-winning ideas.
