Rui Yang is an award-winning marketer with extensive commercial experience across strategy, innovation, and activation in pharma and consumer healthcare. The highlight of Rui’s career is leading priority brands’ business turnaround, growth acceleration, and making a significant impact on patients’ lives.
At Novartis, Rui has experience in leading metastatic breast cancer HCP marketing brand strategy and execution as well as omnichannel promotion. He led the team’s effort in maximizing the HCP promotional opportunity, capitalizing on key events across channels, and streamlining field force engagement strategy and tactics. Rui is very keen on trailblazing new ways of driving a brand’s competitive differentiation and striking for a frictionless treatment journey experience for HCPs and breast cancer patients. He also had great success in leading omnichannel marketing which drove personalization, innovation, speed to market, and multi-touchpoint deep engagement with customers. The marketing effort helped drive significant business turnaround, delivering the fastest growing product in the class and serving more patients than ever before.
Additionally, Rui is an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at New York University, Stern School of Business, teaching the only MBA healthcare marketing class: Innovation and Marketing in Pharma and Consumer Healthcare. He is passionate about inspiring future healthcare leaders to join the industry and create innovative solutions in treatment and beyond.
Prior to marketing, Rui worked in product innovation for several women’s healthcare brands. He and team invented and patented several technologies and products which benefited millions of women in the U.S. and global markets. Rui also holds a PhD degree in chemistry from Stony Brook University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
