Multi-channel marketing, consumer engagement, social media, and mobile technology were just a few of the topics addressed at the Fifth Annual Digital Pharma East conference, sponsored by ExL Pharma.

The Oct. 17-20 event at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel offered more than 50 diverse sessions, led by industry innovators and thought leaders. Standout presentations highlighted the importance of consumer engagement, the effectiveness of closed-loop analytics, and the implications of evolving mobile technology on the modern-day pharma marketer. Key takeaways came from a number of the event’s speakers, including Ceci Zak and Joan Mikardos of Sanofi-Aventis, who encouraged attendees to “think SoLoMo–social/local/mobile” in order to stay relevant to mobile savvy consumers, a group that is expanding rapidly. Pfizer’s Todd Kolm and AstraZeneca’s Robert Allen also left an impression on audiences with presentations on consumer engagement via digital platforms and integrated channel marketing, respectively.
