Zimmer Biomet CEO Moves to 3M

Bryan C. Hanson, the CEO and President of medical device giant Zimmer Biomet for the past six years, is leaving his post and taking up the helm as Chief Executive of 3M’s healthcare business. He is set to become CEO of the Health Care Business Group once it is split off into its own company from the 3M conglomerate in the next year.

An industry veteran, Hanson is trusted to lead 3M’s Health Care Business Group with its deep and diverse portfolio of trusted brands, global capabilities, and leadership in market segments such as wound care, oral care, healthcare IT, and biopharma filtration.

Editas Medicine Names New Chief Scientific Officer

Industry veteran Linda C. Burkly, PhD has been named the new Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Editas Medicine, the clinical-stage genome editing company. With more than 35 years of leadership experience in biotech, Dr. Burkly is now charged with leading Editas’ drug discovery team and all activities related to the company’s pipeline of experimental medicines across all therapeutic areas and indications. She brings a track record of contributing to approved medicines and late-stage clinical candidates that include Trogarzo and Tysabri. Prior to joining Editas, Dr. Burkly held positions of increasing responsibility over a 37-year tenure at Biogen.

Janet Barker-Evans has joined the leading communications agency as Executive Vice President, Chief Creative Officer. Chris Boshoff, MD, PhD was promoted to the Pfizer Executive Leadership Team as Chief Oncology Research and Development Officer and Executive Vice President. He is now accountable for the entire oncology pipeline from discovery to early and late-phase clinical development. Dr. Boshoff previously oversaw Pfizer’s Oncology portfolio, including 24 approved innovative cancer medicines and biosimilars in more than 30 indications.
