15 Years of Trailblazing

Can you believe it has been 15 years since the first Trailblazer Awards? We launched the awards with just a few categories including a Company of the Year in pharma, 13 Brand Awards, and 13 Initiatives, and announced the winners directly in the magazine. But even then, I had a vision for what they could become. I wanted to create an awards show unlike any other in the industry. One that would represent the class and esteem of this industry but also just be a whole lot of fun. I always like to say that PM360 puts the fun in pharma and nothing better embodies that statement then what the Trailblazer Awards Gala has grown into—the industry’s party of the year.

If you were there on October 3rd, or at any of the 13 galas before it, then you don’t need to take my word for it. You know we bring the fun. From endless cocktails to belly-rolling laughter to break dancers to a showcase of glamour, we aim to provide a night where the incredibly hard-working and dedicated members of our industry get to let loose and celebrate a year full of achievements. If you did miss it, check out the highlights and picture what you could look like partying at next year’s gala.

Of course, the Trailblazers is known for much more than its celebration. It has also grown into one of the most prestigious honors in our industry. Over the years, we have added categories like our Brand Champions, who represent some of the top marketers and product managers in various therapeutic areas and roles that span an organization. We also now honor the top decision-makers at companies with our CEOs of the Year as well as the top Products of the Year. And of course, our Lifetime Achievement Award, which has been given to some of the biggest legends our industry has ever known like 2013 winner Dr. P. Roy Vagelos.

But enough about the history of the Trailblazers. Find out what makes this year’s winners special by clicking here. Read about the achievements of top companies including Novo Nordisk, Ethicon, and argenx; the mark made by Lifetime recipient Jim Weiss of Real Chemistry; the innovative technological achievements of Marketer of the Year Conor Fogarty of Genentech; and so much more. These are the types of companies, people, products, and programs that make our industry special—that made me want to establish the Trailblazers in the first place.
