The pharma field sales force was essentially shut down due to COVID-19 and will likely never return to the way it was pre-pandemic. COVID-19 severely restricted face-to-face interactions, revealing a critical communication gap that put patients at risk. As a digital health and communications platform connecting life sciences to the point of care, OptimizeRx moved quickly to launch TelaRep in April 2020.
TelaRep is a HIPAA-compliant, secure, virtual connection for providers to reach the right pharma contact from within their electronic clinical workflow. With “one-click” ability embedded in the electronic health record (EHR), provider-driven inquiries mean physicians can reach out to their pharma rep or medical science liaisons (MSLs) for support when establishing the right treatment regimen for patients. TelaRep helps maintain care and service continuity by replacing lost face-to-face interactions between pharma reps, MSLs, and providers. This gives pharmaceutical companies the opportunity to continue supporting providers treating patients with complex disease states or treatment needs, for whom a gap in communication might mean an adverse effect on their health.
The digital solution strengthens life sciences companies’ digital touchpoints with providers—even when providers are working remotely.
