The best industries, companies, and people are driven by innovation. While the old phrase “innovate or die” may be cliché at this point, it remains true. History is filled with companies once at the top of their respective industries only to fall by the wayside due to their inability to change. Just think about Blockbuster, Yahoo, Myspace, or BlackBerry. Sure, some of those companies are still around, but they were once pioneers and now they are afterthoughts.

Of course, innovation in our industry means more than the survival of a company—it’s essential to the people we serve. It means new life-altering treatments as well as better ways to find and engage with healthcare stakeholders to ensure these treatments get to the people who need them. But innovation is hardly easy. Consider that the timeline to develop a new medicine can be 10 to 12 years. Innovation can also be both scary and exhilarating. Look no further than the current debate around artificial intelligence—the people behind it even acknowledge both its danger and promise. But, no matter what, innovation cannot be ignored. It must be a core priority of any business.

PM360 made innovation a priority 12 years ago when we established our industry’s Original Innovation Issue. Since then, it has become the premiere guide to some of the latest advancements in marketing, healthcare, and the life sciences. But this year, we decided to kick things up a notch. We reimagined the issue with 13 new categories more focused in various areas of the industry including artificial intelligence, clinical trials, consumer and non-consumer health tech, data and cybersecurity, employee development, marketing services, telehealth, startups, and more. So, check out the more than 55 innovations featured in this issue that are changing our industry.

But that isn’t the only change to keep an eye on. On March 25th, we will hold our first-ever PM360 Spark, an innovation summit designed to help inspire new ways of thinking, showcase exciting innovations and startups, teach attendees how to turn ideas into reality, and much more. We want to bring together a collection of willing change-agents from across our industry to provide the spark needed to create the next great innovations. So, if you want to make innovation a priority in 2024, then plan to be there. And stay tuned to PM360 throughout the new year as we continue to provide you with the freshest ideas and insights from our industry’s leading innovators.
