Brian Kaiser
EVP, Head of Strategy
Klick Health
The Pharma Intrapreneur
Over the course of his 22-year career, Brian Kaiser has developed a reputation of being a strategic intrapreneur—working inside some of North America’s leading pharmaceutical companies and agencies to successfully launch, nurture, and scale diverse, innovative healthcare marketing brands and disciplines.
As part of Eli Lilly’s global and U.S. digital teams, Brian played a key role in helping Lilly achieve numerous digital firsts, such as its first HCP portal and first digital patient case studies. Brian also served as VP of Health Strategy at Targetbase for over a decade, where he developed and led efforts to build and scale its healthcare vertical practice to become the agency’s largest contributor of revenue. Working with clients focused in the diabetes, nutriceuticals, immunology, men’s health, urology, and cardiovascular therapeutic areas, he helped Targetbase become a then top healthcare agency focused on relationship management.
In 2014, Brian took his intrapreneurial expertise to Klick Health to help transform its strategy capabilities and navigate its evolution from digital development partner, to dAOR, to AOR, to full commercialization partner on a global scale. Under his leadership, Klick has grown its content strategy, influencer marketing, and global enablement offerings.
Brian is known for having an innate knack for synthesizing crafts and introducing strategic mashups that bring together Klick offerings in unique, breakthrough ways. Case in point: Brian was an early adopter of strategically integrating stakeholder engagement into Klick’s business development efforts. He identified the ability to use emerging data science capabilities to use contextual/environmental datasets to help life sciences brands plan their marketing efforts. He leveraged pioneering applications of predictive modeling and social listening to help a mature pharma brand uncover opportunities to reignite its growth. He also worked closely with Klick’s technology and medical strategy teams to develop a new integrated communications planning tool for a global client.
“Brian is the best strategic partner when you have a task that feels impossible because with Brian (and a Red Bull!) nothing is impossible,” says Holly Henry, Chief Medical Officer, Klick Health. “He leaves his peers and clients in awe of his brilliance, and often in stitches with his wicked sense of humor.”
