Lindsay Bensko, Director, IBD Education and Engagements, Takeda Pharmaceuticals
The COVID pandemic accelerated the need for integrating new technology, innovation, and channels to drive education to the HCP community. In response to this monumental shift, Lindsay Bensko led the Entyvio education and engagement team to chart a new course of reimagining how the brand would support the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) community. This led to the launch of 11 innovative programs across six key areas: in-person educational programs; non-personal person-to-person (P2P) education (i.e., self-directed and on-demand programming); field resources; social; congress engagement; and KOL engagement.
One example of Lindsay and her team’s impact was at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2023. Grounded in Takeda’s mission to improve patient and HCP lives in the IBD community, Lindsay supported her team in creating an initiative that served as an acknowledgment of the profound impact of Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) on individuals from diverse walks of life as well as supporting the overall Chicago community.
The team created a theme of “Together in UC and CD,” a captivating exhibit better known as the Living Wall, which was crafted to educate all who interacted with it. Within this immersive, empathic experience, HCPs engaged in a meaningful gesture—an invitation to dedicate a seedling honoring the patients they diligently care for. Inspirational messages accompanied the seedlings that were donated to various charities across Chicago for planting. As a result of this exhibit, other DDW HCP interactive programming saw a monumental 300% increase in attendees to product theaters and exceeded a Doximity-guaranteed goal by 301%.
