Rheumatology PEAK Education Platform (Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and Synapse Medical Communications)
COVID-19 transformed most in-person opportunities to online learning. With this shift, Novartis enlisted Synapse to develop a medical educational platform to deliver relevant rheumatology content personalized to what—and how—physicians like to learn. Together, the teams developed Rheumatology PEAK: Personalized Education and Knowledge, an unbranded educational platform designed to drive diagnostic and treatment behavioral change through medical education.
At its core, PEAK delivers a new experience in medical education for the rheumatology community by providing on-demand access to over a dozen top experts. Synapse and Novartis led the development of more than 95 unique content assets in partnership with a 12-member steering committee.
The platform offers videos, podcasts, interactive data visualizations, and more. EverMedTV led the platform development, which includes a machine learning algorithm that responds to user preferences through artificial intelligence. It not only makes recommendations based on user input, but can also be navigated by topic, expert, or format. It allows users to curate and share custom playlists. Additional content will be added on a regular basis.
To drive value to the rheumatology community and uphold a seamless experience, an email-based CRM and omnichannel promotional plan provided registered users recommendations and featured top-watched experts.
Since launching in February 2022, the PEAK platform has out-performed expectations. The site has attracted nearly 20K users, has an average engagement rate of 78.4%, and a total event count of nearly 230K. Nearly 25% of targeted U.S. rheumatologists have registered and engaged with the content.
