Catalyzing Innovation in Healthcare
In 2012, Vimal Narayanan started MedTrix Healthcare with his own savings and since then has grown the company to become one of the top three medical and digital communications companies based out of India, servicing the top 25 pharma and biotech companies across the globe. Currently, MedTrix has offices in Bangalore, Dubai, Singapore, London, Basel, and New Jersey.
Innovation is a key component of MedTrix’s success, and Vimal encourages innovation in all aspects of work at the company. The company’s work has resulted in several firsts for the industry in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR).
For example, MedTrix’s “Mixed Reality Anatomy Application” has been appreciated by the world’s best plastic surgeons, oculofacial specialists, dermatologists, and aesthetic physicians. This was the first time that the Microsoft HoloLens was used for anatomy education by taking doctors through cadaveric dissection. This application is now being adapted for iPads and translated to several languages such as Japanese, Chinese, and Italian.
MedTrix has also collaborated with global medical opinion leaders and incorporated new technologies, such as IBM Watson to work on solutions for clinical trial management and care for patients with infertility, asthma, urticaria, and iron overload diseases. These advances would not only reduce inefficiencies in the current way of managing things, especially clinical trials, but also bring cutting-edge approaches that are unheard of in the pharma and healthcare industries.
At both MedTrix and in previous companies, Vimal has opened unchartered client territories, resulting in millions of dollars of revenue for those companies. And the work they are doing at MedTrix on behalf of clients is resulting in accolades from international competitions like the Hermes Creative Awards, which is one of the largest competitions in the world for creative professionals. In 2018, the agency won 1 Platinum for 3D MOA Film, 2 Golds for Virtual Reality Patient Case and e-Learning Program, and 1 Honorable Mention for Interactive Brand Touchscreen.
