Remedy Health Media

A Passion for Oncology Education

Since September 2021, Rabiya S. Tuma, PhD has led editorial direction and strategy for Remedy Health Media’s professional and patient oncology-focused websites as well as four sites focused on providing information, research, and trends to an HCP audience: Practical Pain Management, EndocrineWeb, SpineUniverse, and Psycom. New features that launched in just the past 12 months include podcasts, drug pipeline centers, a focus on profiles and video, and SEO-driven content for consumer-focused Patient Power.

Rabiya has incredible respect for clinicians. Through OBROncology.com, she passionately shines a spotlight on women in the field, often profiling female physicians, such as the 2022 Women in Cancer Awardee, Dr. Gail Eckhardt. For PatientPower.info, she constantly provides relevant content delivered in a patient-friendly manner.

Using the full scope of her science knowledge, reporting acumen, and publishing experience, she is leading her teams to make Remedy’s readers, editors, B2B partners, and writers better informed. Further, she is an advocate for diverse representation in all of Remedy’s products, from championing medical illustrations using bodies of color to ensuring coverage focuses on people of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, financial statuses, and levels of access to health care.

Suzanne Burmeister, Executive Managing Editor, Oncology, Remedy Health Media, says, “Rabiya is always ready to share what she knows and often breaks down complicated topics into ways her staff can understand—and does so with a smile, delighted to help educate us and see us succeed! Her passion for oncology spreads throughout her team and makes us excited to serve our audience with the most well-rounded content possible.”

Angie Drakulich, Executive Managing Editor, HCP, Remedy Health Media and 2022 PM360 ELITE Master Educator adds, “Having worked with Rabiya for about 18 months now, she has become much more than a supervisor, she has become a true mentor. She is one of the most creative and passionate editors I have worked with in my 20-year career. I marvel at how she applies a wide lens to her decision-making, taking into consideration diverse perspectives, and how flexibility is her go-to when a change in direction is needed.”
