Ali Castro has spent the last 10 years in marketing focused on building teams, brands, and cultures in small to mid-size companies. When the opportunity came to join Ferring in 2018 and help shape the company’s strategy in Reproductive Medicine and Maternal Health, she saw it as the ideal next step. “Ferring is committed to science, breaking down access barriers, and continuous innovation,” says Ali. “I am honored to play a critical role.”

In her first six months, she strengthened her marketing team, ensuring that they were focused and ready for change. According to her, “75% of this transformation was hiring the right people and 25% was being a trusted leader in innovation and implementing change. The strong execution then came naturally, and we were well on our way to achieving our goals and building the future.”

Now she and her team are focused on helping Ferring achieve its mission to be the leader in Reproductive Medicine and Maternal Health. “We’re expanding our IVF portfolio offering so patients don’t have to go anywhere else.” Ali explains. “We work hard to understand patient needs throughout their journey. Beyond products, we also work on initiatives to expand access to care.”

Ali notes Ferring is already having a significant impact on infertility with large patient awareness campaigns. “Our team is helping change the conversation around infertility,” she says. “There is a stigma around infertility and pregnancy loss. Patients feel isolated. We want people to have a voice and feel empowered to share their story and change the conversation so that people seek treatment sooner.

But Ali knows there is still much to do. “For our team to accomplish what we need to in the coming years, we must continue to be transparent, thrive on open discussions, and listen to every idea. There will be disagreements, but that can be healthy in an environment where everyone trusts and respects each other. That is the Ferring culture. That is what keeps the edge sharp.”
