ELITE 2019 Strategist Rachel Hansard of Sanofi Genzyme

Rachel Hansard

AVP, Head of U.S. Solid Tumor & Supportive Care Oncology Marketing

Sanofi Genzyme

The Brand Grower

In a pharmaceutical career that spans over 19 years, Rachel Hansard’s keen marketing and business acumen have consistently driven significant growth for the brands she manages.

In the first half of 2018, Rachel initiated an extensive analysis on a brand in her portfolio with negative growth. The result was repositioning the brand, leading to a new campaign and messaging, and ultimately 25% growth in Q4 2018. During this time, she garnered the support of leadership to expand this sales force by more than six-fold—five months earlier than originally planned. This enabled double digit-growth to continue while preparing earlier for an impending product launch. Another example is her leadership of an immuno-oncology brand that achieved triple-digit growth within the first three months of launch.

Rachel also delivered double-digit growth on a nine-year-old brand two of the last three years by building a strong team and executing innovative tactics to significantly increase share of voice and reach to healthcare professionals (HCPs). One example of this was the launch of “xChange,” an innovative platform that creates access by enabling representatives to email HCPs with semi-customizable content and KOL testimonials. Rachel also implemented a unique program that allowed HCPs to deliver patient education through a video-driven, digital platform. In 2018, Sanofi Genzyme recognized this innovative effort by awarding Rachel and her team with the Best Business Innovation Award, an honor bestowed to only the top 1% of the company.

Throughout her career, Rachel has demonstrated a passion for healthcare’s many facets. She has experience driving messaging and marketing strategy, building and leading high-performing teams, collaborating with creative agencies, and driving KOL programs on a global scale. Ultimately, she brings her talents and skills to any situation she faces and makes a positive impact. Thus far, Rachel has received 18 awards for her accomplishments throughout her career. And now she can add one more to that list.
