The HBA Metro Chapter Women’s Healthcare Innovation and Leadership Showcase (WHILS) gathered a range of organizations involved in the women’s healthcare space, as well as leading thought leaders to discuss strategies for driving advancement and innovation in women’s healthcare. The WHILS took place on October 15th at the Sanofi campus in Bridgewater, NJ. Sanofi, Quintilies and HealthyWomen.org were critical partners in this inaugural event.
The core of the WHILS was a curated selection of exhibits profiling groundbreaking data and initiatives that are advancing women’s healthcare through basic research, optimizing medical practices, improving health literacy and behaviors, and/or expanding access. There were exhibits from across the healthcare spectrum, with representatives ranging from advocacy and clinical practice to pharma industry and payers. One of the highlights of the evening was an expert panel of industry leaders discussing women’s healthcare innovation. The panel was moderated by Eve Dryer, 2013 HBA STAR and President of Eve Dryer Healthcare Consulting, and included Beth Battaglino, RN, President and CEO of HealthyWomen.org; Anne C. Beal, MD, MPH, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Officer for Engagement at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI); Julie Gerberding, MD, MPH, President, of Merck Vaccines; Nieca Goldberg, MD, Medical Director at the Joan H.
