ELITE 2018 Leader of the Future Max Levin of Lundbeck LLC

Max Levin

Senior Product Manager, U.S. Marketing Brexpiprazole

Lundbeck LLCIntegrating Sales and Marketing

Max Levin knows the importance of varying experiences—looking at a project with multiple sets of eyes from different roles in order to arrive at the optimal result. That is why he implemented Lundbeck’s first rotational program for account managers. The role gives a top-performing account manager a chance to work with him over a six-month period and contribute to the development of a range of brand initiatives and marketing materials.

“As someone who began their pharmaceutical career as an account manager working directly with HCPs, I find myself constantly drawing on my field experience,” Levin explains. “With our first participant, my goal was for her to be viewed as a full member of our brand team, as well as gain some real-world marketing experience. I think we succeeded on both fronts. At the same time, the account manager continually offered her field perspective on our projects and grounded us in how they could be improved to better meet the needs of our sales teams.”

Max spearheads Lundbeck’s HCP professional marketing efforts as a Senior Product Manager for Rexulti (approved in 2015 as an adjunctive therapy for adults with major depressive disorder and as a monotherapy for adults with schizophrenia). Since launch, Max has been a key contributor in defining the strategy of Rexulti and planning a successful trajectory for the brand. He worked with Concentric Health Experience on the brand’s creative efforts to accelerate the success of Rexulti. In fact, Max’s contributions have helped make Rexulti one of the largest products for Lundbeck. His efforts also led to being selected to lead the brand’s annual strategic and tactical planning for the third consecutive year.

“My career goals involve combining two passions—one for leadership and another for improving the lives of patients, especially those who suffer from mental illness,” Max says. “As I think about the rest of my career, I hope it continues to involve working closely with highly talented people and collaborating with cross-functional teams to make a broader impact on the organization and improve the lives of patients.”
