For more than 30 years, McKesson Corporation, the healthcare services and information technology company, has invited the “best and brightest” independent pharmacy store owners and pharmacists to come together to share best practices and business-building strategies. This year, the conference sported a new name, ideaShare, when it convened June 29-July 3 in San Francisco.

“Pharmacists who attended ideaShare 2011 left the conference with additional tools, knowledge and solutions to help them pursue and achieve new levels of clinical and business success,” says Brian S. Tyler, president of the company’s U.S. Pharmaceutical business unit.

Pharmacists signed up for newly-launched mobile messaging services, which allows them to send automated medication reminders, pick-up notifications and auto-refill messages via text, e-mail or automated phone messages directly to their patients’ mobile devices. The company also launched the Physician Outreach Program, designed to help independent pharmacies foster greater collaboration with physicians and attract more patients.

The Scene highlights significant events in the pharma marketing industry. Companies interested in having event photos published in PM360 should contact editorial@PM360online.com for more details.
