We are proud to present the winners of our first annual PM360 ELITE Awards. The ELITE (Exceptional Leaders, Innovators, Transformers and Entrepreneurs) represent the most influential people in the healthcare industry. The key word: People. This is PM360’s first award to focus solely on people—not just their work or company—but the individual.

We shine a spotlight on the most powerful minds—the thinkers who are shaping our industry. But beyond that, we provide our readers with insights into how these exceptional individuals became so successful—highlighting their greatest accomplishments, current game-changing projects and goals for the future. We also offer all of pharma the opportunity to rub elbows with this eclectic group as we honor the PM360 ELITE with an awards cocktail party, July 14th at 6:30 PM at the Standard High Line rooftop bar in New York City’s Meatpacking District.

But first, meet PM360’s ELITE inaugural class. These 60 individuals are not simply the top people in their fields—but also the industry’s preeminent leaders. And it was not easy to narrow the field down to just 60. We received a large number of nominations—from every area of the industry—that were not only compelling but brimming with enthusiasm. The nominations were more than just facts and figures detailing a person’s vast accomplishments, but passionate testimonials stressing why that person was so deserving of being honored. But ultimately we choose the 60 that represented the true crème de la crème.

And that starts with PM360’s Uber Elite—or the very best of the very best—Brenton “Brent” Saunders, the CEO of Actavis. At just 44, his accomplishments are numerous. He served as the CEO of three major pharma companies and just recently transformed Actavis—through the acquisition of Allergan—from a generics manufacturer into a top 10 company.

We also honor the ELITE in the following 12 categories:

Leaders of the Future: Up-and-comers who display the characteristics of an emerging leader.

Entrepreneurs: Visionary risk-takers who develop new companies to answer unmet needs.

Transformational Leaders: People who change the way companies operate—from instituting new organizational structures to reinvigorating stagnant businesses.

Patient Advocates: Those who work on patients’ behalf to make their voices heard and ensure their needs are met.

Disrupters: The fearless individuals who disrupt the status quo to revolutionize the industry.

Mentors: The role models others aspire to emulate.

Strategists: People with a sixth sense for what works—and the ability to predict what the evolving pharma industry needs to do to remain relevant.

Tech-know Geeks: Innovators who spearhead technological breakthroughs that reshape the industry.

Master Educators: People who revolutionize the way patients/doctors learn and absorb the information available from life science companies.

Data Miners: Individuals who specialize in analytics and can turn hordes of numbers and research into actionable insight.

Launch Experts: Marketers with significant success in bringing a new drug to market or in revitalizing markets for an older drug with a fresh campaign.

Digital Crusaders: Those who advance digital channel applications or platforms to transform marketing and/or company operations.
