Frost & Sullivan, supporting the pharmaceutical industry in the quest to improve patient adherence, hosted their 8th Annual Patient Adherence Congress in Philadelphia. An exclusive group of pharmaceutical industry executives gathered in an intimate setting to talk about best practices and insights into their shared challenges. The Congress provides end-to-end strategic support in adherence effectiveness and optimization, and participants left with powerful ideas and clear action plans to implement in their organizations. Anna Stashower, PM360’s CEO and Publisher, hosted innovative industry thought leaders in a panel discussion focused on Engaging Patients in a Digital World. Great eclectic insights included the following.

Devin Paullin of Physicians Interactive pointed out the opportunity for pharma to support product development and solutions in EHR and ePrescribing, the wave of the future.

Jordan Goldberg of stickK shared insight into why the carrot is far more effective than the stick in changing long-term behavior. He spoke of gamification and positive reimbursements, effective incentive design leveraging individual interests, and why engaging the physician is a critical “who’s looking” factor in behavioral change.

Gretchen Ramsey of MRM Worldwide identified branded social media support as a missed opportunity for pharma and encouraged participants to look into the critical role of social accountability to effect behavior change.

And Brad Einarsen of Klick Health shared insight into visionary and innovative use of mobile technology in disease management and noted that an active consumer migration to mobile will mean all patients will eventually be “ePatients.”
