And yet, when Erin Schallhorn Powers joined the company, few customers were aware of the full partnership that BVI offers. Instead, the connotation was with heritage brands: highly praised by surgeons, yet not reflective of the large offerings that demonstrate the potential collaborations beneficial to both practices and patients.
With the implementation of the BVI Value Proposition, she and her team are helping to refocus the vision of the company and evolve its image worldwide. And considering that three of her family members are ophthalmologists, she especially loves the focus on customers: offering the freedom to choose.

Erin is also working to highlight BVI’s sustainability efforts. For example, by changing from pad printing to laser marking on some of their instrumentation, they are expecting to reduce the scrap from 50% in 2022. This action and many more demonstrate a continued commitment to making an impact—inside the OR and beyond.
The efforts to evolve awareness of BVI more than doubled LinkedIn subscribers in the last year, reaching nearly 20,000! Additionally, website visits increased with 70% new visitors.
