For decades, non-melanoma skin cancer has been treated by dermatologists with invasive Mohs Surgery. GentleCure Oncology set out to disrupt this standard of care with their Image Guided Superficial Radiotherapy Technology (IG-SRT). Vpak was charged to address this multifaceted challenge, which required educating patients about a number of critical issues such as comparative efficacy, financial considerations, and treatment differences between invasive surgery versus non-invasive IG-SRT treatment. Each of these issues were addressed in videos presented to patients in a compelling, organized, and engaging way during their dermatologist visit.
The Vpak SmartBrochure and Counter Display with Wireless Charging is comprised of two basic components: the Video-in-Print book and the stand that holds the book. The SmartBrochure is a Video-in-Print book that has an actual LCD video screen built right into the paper, so patients can read the text, look at the graphics, and watch the video. As the patient turns the page, microsensors recognize the action and automatically changes the video to correspond to the correct page. It’s easy, simple, and even fun. And when the SmartBrochure is on the Vpak Counter Display, a sensor detects its location and automatically recharges the book wirelessly, eliminating leg work for office staff.
The Vpak SmartBrochure and Counter Display system displays seven different videos—an introductory video upon opening the book, and six context-specific tabbed pages with matching videos. The book features a large 8-inch state-of-the-art Tru-Def Generation 3.0 screen with an impressive 1200 x 800 pixel count. A built-in USB port allows for quick and easy changes or updates to the videos in the future.
