New York City Heart & Stroke Ball Sees Huge Success

The New York City Heart & Stroke Ball hosted more than 500 guests at Cipriani Wall Street on Wednesday, June 14 and raised over $1.5 million. This year’s event was chaired by John F. Thero, President & CEO, Amarin. Dennis S. Charney, MD, the Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Dean of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and President for Academic Affairs for the Mount Sinai Health System won the Heart of Gold Award. Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, Director of Mount Sinai Heart and Physician-in-Chief of The Mount Sinai Hospital, and Bob Harper, personal trainer, author, and survivor were also in attendance.

Sponsors included Mount Sinai Heart as the American Heart Association’s Life is Why New York City sponsor. Amarin was the New York City Signature Sponsor and Gold Sponsors were Katherine Farley, Jerry Speyer, and KPMG.
