Amgen: SHARER, BRADWAY, PERLMUTTER and HARPER
Kevin Sharer, chairman and chief executive officer of Amgen since 2000, has announced his plan to retire from the company at the end of 2012. Robert Bradway, currently president and chief operating officer, will take over as CEO. Roger Perlmutter will retire as executive vice president of research and development, and Sean Harper will assume his role.

Usana: BRAUN and MACUGA
Usana Health Sciences announced that it hired Doug Braun as its new vice president of marketing. Braun, who was most recently the president of Nikken International, brings more than 20 years of direct selling experience. The company also appointed Dan Macuga, former vice president of marketing, public relations and social media, to chief communications officer.

Mirixa: LELKO
Mirixa Corporation announced that Stacey Lelko has joined the company as vice president of sales and business development. Lelko most recently served as vice president of strategic partnerships for the Center for Health Transformation (CHT). Previously, she held senior positions with Eli Lilly and Schering Plough.

Diplomat: STEPHENS
Craig Stephens joined Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy as group vice president of business development and trade relations. Prior to joining Diplomat, Stephens was senior vice president and practice leader for Evergreen Rx, vice president for Walgreens Health Services, and vice president for UnitedHealth Group.

GenVec: FISCHER
GenVec announced that Paul Fischer has informed the Board of Directors of his plan to retire as president and chief executive officer. Dr. Fischer will continue to serve until a successor is named and the CEO transition is complete.

Mylan: THIEVON
Mylan announced the appointment of John Thievon as president of Dey Pharma. Thievon has more than 20 years of professional experience in strategic product launches, marketing, commercialization, sales penetration and distribution leadership. Most recently, he served as president and chief executive officer of MiddleBrook Pharmaceuticals.

Ogilvy: PORTNOY, DRISKILL, MADERA, KOBER, KELLY, and SQUITTIERI
Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide announced a series of promotions and new hires. Adam Portnoy was promoted from group art supervisor to director, digital video and animation, media lab; Christine Driskill was elevated from program director to senior program director; Gabriela Madera advanced from account executive to senior account executive; and Courtney Kober was promoted from senior account coordinator to account executive. Additionally, Rick Kelly was hired as vice president, account management supervisor, and Nicholas Squittieri, MD, entered the company as vice president, management supervisor.

TGaS: BITTINGER, MCWALTERS, PARAS, DEPPEN, CLEMENT, ELSE, KRAFT, LEE, MAHONEY, and VITALE
TGaS Advisors announced four promotions and six new directors/management advisors. Peter Bittinger was promoted to senior vice president; Gary McWalters is now senior vice president with responsibility for the marketing advisory practice; and Don Paras and Brian Deppen were both named executive directors. The new directors/management advisors are Susan Clement, of marketing operations practice; Jack Else, of the firm’s managed markets practice; Karl Kraft, of the marketing operations practice; Debbie J. Lee, of sales operations; Ashley Mahoney, of digital & relationship marketing; and Steve Vitale, of marketing sciences and global marketing.

PowerPlay: RAHIM
PowerPlay Strategies announced that Joretta Rahim has joined the company as an account executive. Rahim brings with her more than 20 years of strategic brand development and operational initiatives for international and domestic events for Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies, volunteer health care associations and corporate B2B and B2C clients.

Codexis: BOLSEN
Codexis announced Wesley Bolsen has been named vice president and chief marketing officer. Bolsen joins Codexis from Coskata, where he most recently served as chief marketing officer. At Coskata, he also held the senior management positions of vice president, government affairs and vice president, business development.

Remedi: GAUFF
Remedi SeniorCare named Corey Gauff its new senior vice president of sales and account management. Most recently, Gauff served as the southeast division vice president of sales for Apria Healthcare. Previously, he held management positions at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare and Abbott Laboratories.

Bell, Falla: SANTER
Gwen Santer joined Bell, Falla and Associates as senior vice president. Most recently, Santer was senior vice president of healthcare research at Harris Interactive.

AbelsonTaylor: GRAETZ, McAFFEE, KOSIR, WILLIAMS, and CONRAD
Two creative staffers at AbelsonTaylor, Brad Graetz and Andy McAfee, have been named creative directors. Both Graetz and McAfee were formerly associate creative directors. The company also promoted Leo Kosir to associate creative director/digital, Mike Williams to associate creative director/art, and Rick Conrad to associate creative director/art. Previously, Kosir was senior art director, Williams was a freelance designer and a design manager at Motorola, and Conrad was vice president, creative and interactive director at SPM Marketing & Communications + SPM Interact. —Lauren Genovesi
