MAHONEY AND KUCHEMAN
Boston Scientific Corporation named Michael F. Mahoney the new company president, and effective November 1, 2012, the chief executive officer. Mahoney has previously served as worldwide chairman of Johnson & Johnson’s medical device and diagnostics group. William H. (Hank) Kucheman will be promoted to interim chief executive officer until Mahoney assumes the role.

PROLOG
Henry Prolog was named vice president of data strategy, acquisitions and services of
Wolters Kluwer Pharma Solutions. Prolog brings more than 25 years of sales, data contracts, and marketing experience in the healthcare, technology and information industries, and he has held several senior management roles in related industries, including at Siemens Medical, Fresenius USA, IMS Health, Verispan and US Oncology.

LI
Novo Nordisk appointed Dr. Eddie Li to the role of vice president, regulatory affairs. Li brings over 20 years of industry, public sector, and academic experience in the field of regulatory affairs and safety. As leader of Novo Nordisk’s U.S. regulatory team, he will maintain relationships with key individuals and agencies outside of Novo Nordisk that play a specific role in the U.S. FDA s review and approval process.

COSBY
CVS Caremark announced that Mark S. Cosby has been named president of CVS/pharmacy. Previously, Cosby served as president and chief operating officer of Macy’s East, and senior vice president for property development of Federated Department Stores. Earlier in his career, Cosby was president of full-line stores for Sears Roebuck & Co., chief operations officer of KFC, and chief development officer of Yum! Brands.

RISLEY
Intouch Solutions announced the appointment of Jeff Risley as vice president of social and emerging media. Risley joins Intouch as a marketing leader with more than 20 years of experience in social media strategy, company and product positioning, marketing campaign planning and public and media relations.

BARRETTO-KO
Percival Barretto-Ko was recently named senior vice president of corporate strategy and government affairs of Astellas US, LLC. Barretto-Ko will move from the position of executive director, corporate strategy and communications at Astellas Pharma Europe Ltd. Prior to joining Astellas, he held senior marketing and sales positions with the Roche Group in the United States and United Kingdom.

KRAMER
C Topin & Associates recently announced that Betsy Kramer has joined the team as an account director. Prior to joining Topin & Associates, Kramer worked for Corbett Accel Healthcare Group (CAHG), where she led the global Bristol-Myers Squibb account.

NASH
Rudy Nash has joined MicroMass Communications as senior mobile application developer. Nash brings 25 years of communications and technical expertise to the behavioral science-based agency. Previously, Nash was president of Renware, a software services provider.

MANGAN, ROMANELLI, DEUBERT, BROWNSTEIN, SELLE, AND WASHINGTON
Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide announced three promotions and three new hires. Jessica Mangan was promoted from account group supervisor to vice president, account group supervisor; Alyson Romanelli has advanced from account group supervisor to vice president, account group supervisor; and Jacquelyn Deubert moved from associate director, production to the position of production director. Jenna Brownstein was elected the new senior vice president, management supervisor, John Selle joined as vice president, architecture and operations, and Sabrina Washington was named vice president, management supervisor.

SLAVIN
Everyday Health appointed Paul Slavin to the role of senior vice president and general manager, global news and Everyday Health studios. Slavin was formerly senior vice president, new media, at the ABC news unit of The Walt Disney Company. He has won numerous awards for his reporting and production, including 12 broadcast Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Overseas Press Club Award and a Peabody, among others.

FOWLER, GOODWIN, BUMB, AND POLONI
Toshiba America Medical Systems announced four new hires. Donald Fowler, who will serve as Toshiba’s general manager and senior vice president, is the former vice president, MR business unit, at Siemens Medical Solutions. Joining Toshiba after two years with Philips Healthcare as general manager, Nuclear Medicine Business, Scott Goodwin was named vice president, sales. Stephen Bumb, previously the marketing director for Edwards Lifesciences Critical Care, was appointed to director, x-ray vascular business unit. Finally, Guy Poloni, Ph.D., who worked as sequence development unit director at Buffalo Neuroimaging Center, was named product manager for the Vantage Titan 3T MR system.

PEARSALL, WRIGHT, DORON, EVANS, SALSMAN, WESTHAFER, AND JULIAN
Discovery Chicago acquired several new team members. Jennifer Pearsall and Kelley Wright were hired as account managers, Emily Doron and Sarah Evans joined as account coordinators, Scott Salsman and Michael Westhafer entered as associate scientific directors, and Fides Julian was named executive assistant.

PURCELL
SCS Healthcare Marketing announced that Patrick Purcell has joined the organization as vice president of sales to lead the company’s business development group. Purcell was formerly the vice president of sales and marketing at PharmaTouch.
