Amgen
Announced the promotion of Cynthia Patton to Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer. Patton comes with healthcare legal experience along with the understanding of business operations. A J.D. graduate from George Washington University, Patton will oversee Amgen’s worldwide compliance and business ethics organization.
ICC Lowe
Several people were promoted and hired at ICC Lowe, a leading healthcare communications organization including: Matt Brown as General Manager, Margaret Anne Ingram as General Manager, Renee Willis as President, Dr. Stacey Patterson as Chief Medical Officer and Paul O’Neill as Chief Growth Offi cer. All fi ve have essential roles and will be contributing to the growth and expansion of the company.
Kantar Health
After previously succeeding as Group Director at Kantar Health, Louise Tamblin is returning to that same role to carry on her interest in psychological theory. Most recently, she served as Head of Research at Strata Research and prior to that was her first goaround with Kantar and a Group Director role at TNS Healthcare. Tamblin’s addition and experience adjoins to Kantar’s market access and clinical trial research.
Medecision
One of the leading providers of healthcare management solutions hired Jerry Baker as Senior Vice President and General Manager. Prior to compiling over 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry, Baker served as a Captain in the Marines for five years. He will assist in introducing value-based health solutions to organizations seeking an invested technology partner to help deal with the changes of healthcare reform.
Oso Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing, LLC
With 20 years of experience, Robert Cashman was promoted to Vice President of Business Development at Oso Biopharmaceuticals. He will be in charge of expending OsoBio’s injectable pharmaceutical contract manufacturing business along with overseeing existing and potential customer relationships, managing pricing structures and directing strategic corporate alliances. Cashman previously served as Director of New Business Development for OsoBio’s East Coast market.
PSKW
Added Ticia Cawley as Vice President (VP) of Specialty Programs. As VP, Cawley will oversee the specialty pharmaceutical business, including developing new offerings, providing technical and consultative support, and representing PSKW at conferences and advisory boards. Cawley was honored by the Healthcare Business Women’s Association in 2012 as an industry Rising Star and received the Genzyme Global Marketing Vice President’s Award in 2001.
Publicis Life Brands Medicus
The subsidiary of Publicis Healthcare Communications Group appointed Adrian Sansone as Managing Director. Previously serving as General Manager of Publicis Life Brands International, Sansone has nearly 20 years of agency and pharmaceutical industry experience. In his new role, he will lead PLBM to the next level while strengthening client relationships and exceeding clients’ expectations.
Savient Pharmaceuticals
The specialty biopharmaceutical company hired John P. Hamill as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Hamill will be accountable for all the financial and accounting functions in the company. Prior to being hired at Savient, Hamill severed as CFO of PharmaNet Development Group and in several senior financial management positions at Omnicare Clinical Research.
Sequenom
The life sciences company appointed Bill Bowen as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. He will be responsible for all of the company’s legal and patent activities. Bowen’s expertise is in biotechnology and medical devices corporate counsel, and he will contribute to Sequenom’s expansion in the genetic analysis marketplace.
StoneArch
Carolyn Zucker was appointed to Account Executive for Meetings at StoneArch (SA). StoneArch has specialized in medical device and healthcare marketing since 1984. Zucker’s new role will include developing and managing client relationships and creating business opportunities for the company.

The inVentiv Health subsidiary appointed Greg Niemczyk to Director of Client Services. Niemczyk has more than 18 years of healthcare marketing experience, serving as Vice President, Account Director at AbelsonTaylor and another nine years on the client side including his time as Product Manager at Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals.

Avon Calls Fred Hassan
Just a couple of weeks after being honored with the first PM360 Lifetime Achievement Award at the magazine’s annual Trailblazers Gala, Bausch & Lomb Board Chairman Fred Hassan was named the new Board Chairman of Avon Products.
Hassan, who is also a managing director and partner at the private-equity firm Warburg Pincus, will officially become Avon’s non-executive Chairman in January 2013 (replacing Andrea Jung, who will become a senior advisor). A veteran of more than 40 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Hassan has been an Executive Vice President at Wyeth, a CEO at Pharmacia and Upjohn, and a Board Chairman and CEO of Schering-Plough, where he was credited with righting the ship of a failing company between 2003–2005. Hassan has also written a book about leadership and management due
to be released in 2013.
New Head of Neurology
Cynthia Schwalm joined Merz (the U.S. affiliate of Merz Pharma Group) as Vice President of Neurology. She will manage Merz’s growing neurology business unit in the U.S., which includes the recently acquired Cuvposa, an oral solution for pediatric chronic severe drooling associated with neurologic conditions such as cerebral palsy. She joins the company with 30 years of industry experience with proficiency in movement disorders and neurology, such as pain management, Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy including Lennox Gaustaut syndrome. Most recently, she served as the Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer at Chimerix, Inc. Schwalm earned a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Delaware and her Executive Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
