New Company, New CEO
Symphony Health Solutions, a part of Symphony Technology Group (STG), appointed William Nelligan as Chief Executive Officer. Last May, STG acquired Source Healthcare Analytics from Wolters Kluwer and combined it with three other businesses (ImpactRx, TargetRx and AlphaDetail) to form Symphony Health Solutions. Nelligan, who began his career at Thomson Healthcare, will work with the current management teams of the other companies to help integrate the businesses and ensure a focus on strong joint value propositions for clients and innovation. Nelligan most recently spent more than 10 years at IMS Health where he held multiple positions including SVP Emerging Markets, President of Asia Pacific and President, U.S. and Americas. Nelligan’s goal as CEO is to meet the business needs and value expectations of life science clients and to enable value-creating collaboration between life science companies, payers, government and providers.

Top Marketing Entrepreneur
Robert Previdi, CEO of PSKW, LLC, a leading provider of biopharma loyalty relationship marketing services, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award in the Marketing and Advertising Services category in New Jersey. An entrepreneur in each state is chosen by an independent panel of judges based on their success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. As the New Jersey winner, Previdi is now eligible for the National Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award, which will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, CA, on November 17. “Success in business should be measured in two ways,” Previdi said about the honor. “The first is by how well the company is doing as a business, and the second is by how well our people are doing as individuals. PSKW is enjoying remarkable success by both measures, and it is an honor to be at the helm of such an exceptional team.”

AbelsonTaylor

Added Erik Spitzer and Michael Perry Goodman as associate interactive developer and front-end developer respectively. Spitzer will be handling responsibilities that include content integration, database updates and application development for iPad interactive sales aids. Goodman will handle building websites and creating marketing email campaigns as well as other development projects for brands in the oncology and gastrointestinal disease categories.

AdvantageMS

The company, a leading source of healthcare provider data to the life sciences industry, promoted William Van Derveer to Senior Project Manager. He is now responsible for the implementation and maintenance of ongoing customer master data services. Van Derveer recently earned his MBA from Temple’s Fox School of Business and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

Agendia

The molecular cancer diagnostics and personalized medicine company added Glen Fredenberg to their ranks as CFO and Vice President of Finance. With 20 years in the financial field, Fredenberg has helped increase revenue at several companies including LabCorp-owned US Labs and Clarient, where revenue increased to $140 million before being sold to GE Healthcare.

Alliance Life Sciences Consulting Group

ALSCG promoted Jim Burke, Laszlo Fabriczi and Gaurav Suri into expanded leadership roles to assist with business operations in the Contracting and Pricing Solutions Practice. Burke will now serve as Senior Vice President of the practice where he will play a larger role in strategic planning for the firm. Fabriczi and Suri were formerly directors within the practice but they will now serve in vice president positions.

CVRx, Inc.

The medical device company appointed Philippe Wanstok to the newly created position of Chief Commercial Officer. Wanstok’s role is to handle the commercial launch of CVRx’s Barostim neo product. Wanstok brings 20 years of medical device experience to CVRx. Most recently, he served as the International General Manager of Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management -Commercial Operations at Medtronic where he helped generate more than $2.4 billion in revenue in active implantable devices.

EvaluatePharma

Debbie Paul was named CEO of the Americas and will handle EvaluatePharma’s growing North American operations and its strategic expansion into Canada and Latin America. Paul is replacing Jonathan de Pass who remains chief executive of the U.K.-based parent company, EvaluatePharma Ltd.

Everyday Health

Award-winning journalist Ju-Don Roberts was promoted to General Manager and Senior Vice President. Since joining Everyday Health in July 2011 as Vice President and Editor-in-Chief, News and Audience Development, Roberts has led the brand’s news strategy and growth in social media. In her new role, she will oversee the web, mobile, social, video, and product strategies for EverydayHealth.com.

Makovsky Health

Promoted Tom Jones (a member of PM360’s Editorial Advisory Board) to Senior Vice President. Through Jones’ leadership, the company has maintained a nearly 100% year-to-year client- retention rate. Before joining Makovsky, he was an industry consultant and executive director of communications for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Jones has nearly 20 years of healthcare-specific experience developing public relations and corporate communications initiatives.

Sequenom, Inc.

Appointed Carolyn Beaver as their new Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Beaver also currently serves as a director of Commerce National Bank, a position she has held since 2005. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Topin & Associates

The Chicago-based healthcare marketing communications agency has added Laura Pionek as a Digital Producer. The hiring comes in response to increased demand for digital products. Pionek ran her own digital shop, SquareSpot Multimedia, for several years and has also worked for several consumer companies including Allstate Corporation.

Wockhardt USA

Andrew J. Watson, MBA was promoted to Associate Vice President, Sales and Marketing. He joined Wockhardt USA in 2008 and led the launch of the branded U.S. pharmaceutical business, including the creation of a pediatric sales force. In 2012, he received the PM360 Brand Manager of the Year Award in the Respiratory category. Watson currently serves as a member of the PM360 Editorial Advisory Board.
