The New York City-based healthcare data company has hired Amy Roberts and Julie Mitchell as Senior Survey Programmers. Roberts and Mitchell have a combined 25-plus years of programming experience, bringing the team’s expertise in that area to more than 40 years.

AMAG PHARMACEUTICALS, INC.
Appointed William K. Heiden as president and chief executive officer and also to the company’s board of directors. An experienced pharmaceutical and biotechnology executive, Heiden joins AMAG from GTC Biotherapeutics, Inc., where he served as president and chief executive officer since June 2010. He will return as chairman of GTC Biotherapeutics following commencement of his employment with AMAG.

ANTARES PHARMA, INC.
LeRoux Jooste appointed as Senior Vice President of Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing. Jooste has more than 25 years experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry and his major product launch successes include Prozac, Ceclor, Gemzar, Humulin, Enbrel and Effexor XR. Jooste received his diploma in Pharmacy from Pretoria Technikon in South Africa, and a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Industrial Psychology from the University of South Africa.

COVANCE INC.
Announced two executive management appointments: Bill Klitgaard, the company’s current Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer moves to Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Alison Cornell, currently Vice President, Global Financial Planning and Analysis, promoted to Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, replacing Mr. Klitgaard.

HEALTHED
The Clark, New Jersey-based company that creates educational programs for patients and their care partners appointed Vicki Kelemen as Senior Vice President. She will lead the company’s growing business on the West Coast and also lead teams servicing current HealthEd clients, including Genentech, Amgen, and Amylin.

INCLINE THERAPEUTICS, INC.
The hospital-focused specialty pharmaceutical company based in Redwood City, CA, appointed John Tucker as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. Tucker has 20 years experience building and leading pharmaceutical commercial organizations with a significant focus in the hospital market. He will serve as a member of Incline’s senior leadership team and have broad responsibility for sales, marketing, and other commercial operations.

JB ASHTIN GROUP, INC.
The Plymouth, MI, healthcare solutions company hired Lynzie Babala as marketing manager and Teresa Oblak, PhD, as an associate scientific director. Babala possesses 17 years’ experience in marketing and corporate communications, while Oblak, a medical writer who has been employed at the company for more than three years, has played an integral role in establishing JB Ashtin’s online global presence.

KJT GROUP
The evidence-based consulting firm out of Honeoye Falls, NY, has named Dr. Thomas Richardson as its Chief Marketing Officer. Richardson joined the company as Vice President of Strategic Consulting in February, 2012. Retaining that role, he will now also be responsible for the development and implementation of KJT Group’s Strategic Business Consulting operations as well as the company’s overall marketing process and execution. The Strategic Consulting practice will launch in July 2012.

MEDIVIR AB
Hired Henric Juserius as the new head of the Swedish-based company’s commercial activities (as of August 2012). Juserius, who has more than 20 years experience and recently served as Commercial Director for the Nordic region at Actelion Pharmaceuticals, will have overall responsibility for pharmaceutical marketing and sales.

PACIFIC COMMUNICATIONS
Announced the addition of Group Creative Director Patrick Macke, who will oversee all of the agency’s interactive creative output. Macke brings more than 25 years experience as a writer and creative manager on both the corporate and agency side. Prior to joining Pacific Communications, Macke was vice president and creative director for Ignite Health in Irvine, Calif.

PRECISION HEALTH MEDIA
Appointed Mark Magnani to the new position of Vice President, Advertising Sales, and named Tim Hanlon as an advisor. Magnani, who has gained more than 20 years experience in online, print, and out-of-home media by working with senior level pharma brand managers, most recently served as Executive Vice President Client Services at Healthy Advice Networks, a leading video network for doctors’ offices. Hanlon advises technology-based start-ups and traditional media companies through his investment advisory and strategic consulting firm, The Vertere Group, LLC, based in Chicago.

RESPIRA THERAPEUTICS
Armando Anido, former President & CEO of Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., was elected to the Respira Therapeutics, Inc. board of directors. Anido joined Auxilium in 2006 and grew sales from $42M in 2005 to over $260M in 2011, increasing market capitalization from $200M to over $900M during his tenure as CEO.

RXI PHARMACEUTICALS CORPORATION
Appointed Geert Cauwenbergh, Dr. Med. Sc. as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Cauwenbergh brings to the Worcester, MA, company more than 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Cauwenbergh, who received his Doctorate in Medical Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven, Faculty of Medicine (Belgium), will also serve as a director on the Company’s board.

BIOTECH LTD.
Appointed Danny Chung as Chief Financial Officer. Nan Wang, who had served as interim Chief Financial Officer since August 2011, will continue as the company’s Vice President. Chung graduated in 1983 from The Hong Kong Polytechnic and obtained a Professional Diploma in Accountancy. He has held professional membership in the U.S. Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1990.

TEGRA MEDICAL
The Franklin, MA, company that provided contract manufacturing and assembly services for the medical device industry hired Robert E. Pietrafesa as President and Chief Executive Officer. Pietrafesa most recently served as President of the InterV Division of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals after the successful sale of American Medical Instruments (AMI) to Angiotech for $785 million.

TEVA PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES LTD
Named Jeremy Levin, formerly a senior vice-president for strategy at Bristol-Myers Squibb, as Teva Pharma’s new president and chief executive officer, replacing Shlomo Yanai, who retired as of May 2012.
