MundoFox’s New President To Help Advertisers Engage Hispanic Sector

“I’m very excited to be part of building MundoFox into a dominant force in the Hispanic community, the fastest growing sector of the population in the United States,” said Ibra Morales, after his recent appointment as President of the Hispanic broadcast network owned by Fox International Channels (FIC) and the RCN Television Group. Morales previously served as Senior Vice President of National Marketing for the Katz Television Group and was also President of the Telemundo Station Group.

With this new appointment, MundoFox hopes to challenge the position of Univision and Telemundo. Morales explained, “Our goal is to create a vital environment of news, entertainment and information for our viewers—and attract advertisers who are looking for engaging ways to reach these consumers.”

Physician Office Resource Appoints President

Physician Office Resource (POR), a medical publishing company that serves the pharma and medical device industries, appointed John Pasquale as President. In his role, he will be responsible for managing the growth of all POR divisions including ConnectRx, Diagnostic & Devices, CodeQuick and Medescapes. Before his promotion, Pasquale was Senior Vice President of Business Development and he managed the growth and adoption of ConnectRx, an information exchange that connects healthcare providers with prescribing and diagnostic information. Prior to joining POR, Pasquale was Vice President, Business Development at Group DCA, a PDI company, serving top tier pharma clients including Novartis, Purdue and Serono. He also established business relationships with Merck, McNeil Healthcare and Endo.

Hired Emily Tower as Vice President, Digital Strategy and Analytics. Tower brings expertise in professional and consumer healthcare marketing in a wide array of therapeutic areas. In her position, she will help drive digital innovations and provide strategic recommendations for clients and brands.

Aquavit Pharma

Appointed David J. Goldberg, MD, JD, as its Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining Aquavit, Goldberg served as President of ASLMS and has served on the Board of Directors of AAD, ASLMS and ASDS. Goldberg also serves as Clinical Professor at various institutions including Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He is Chief of Dermatology at Hackensack University Medical Center and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham Law School.

Cambridge BioMarketing

The orphan and specialty drug communications company named Jen Jonsson as Director, Operations. In this new position, Jonsson will help drive the agency’s commitment to providing innovative experience. Before joining Cambridge, Jonsson spent four years with The Barbarian Group.

Cempra

The late stage clinical pharma company hired David Moore as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer to manage the commercial development and launch of solithromycin and Taksta. He brings more than 15 years experience developing and managing commercial programs at the Ortho-McNeil and Janssen Pharmaceutical divisions within Johnson & Johnson.

GA Communications

The Chicago-based healthcare agency hired Joe Vladic as Analytics and Users Insight Manager. Vladic previously served as Digital Marketing Strategist for SIRVA and brings experience and understanding of marketing trends. Justin Colville joins the team as Senior Producer, and brings experience in leading cross-functional teams in the development and testing for software releases.

Moderna Therapeutics

The company focused on mRNA Therapeutics appointed Lorence Kim, MD as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Moderna, Kim served as Managing Director and Co-head of the U.S. biotechnology investment banking effort at Goldman Sachs. Kim earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Intarcia Therapeutics

Appointed Jay Smith as Head of Customer Experience & Outcomes (CXO), a newly created executive position. Smith will focus on optimizing the customer experience and treatment outcome for every customer and patient using an Intarcia product. Smith previously worked at J&J, Novartis, and Sunovion.

Intra-Cellular Therapies

The CNS-focused biopharma company appointed Juan Sanchez, MD, as VP of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. Sanchez brings more than 10 years of experience as a Wall Street research analyst with a focus on companies specializing in CNS diseases. Sanchez received a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Los Andes.

Intrexon

The leader in synthetic biology appointed Kelly Huang, PhD, to head its newly established Consumer Sector. Dr. Huang brings more than 18 years experience leading global businesses in life sciences and consumer healthcare. Huang was previously employed with Endo Health Solutions where he was a member of the Executive Committee responsible for strategic leadership across multiple sectors and was also the President of the Medical Services Division, HealthTronics, since 2011.

PTC Therapeutics

Appointed Guido Schopen, MD to General Manager and Head of Medical Affairs for Europe and will be responsible for European commercial operations. Schopen served as Vice President, Global Commercial Operations and Medical Affairs for TiGenix NV before joining PTC, where he oversaw the commercialization of ChondroCelect, the first approved cell therapy product for cartilage repair in Europe, and the clinical development strategy for the company’s adult stem cell programs.

Sequenom

A diagnostic testing and genetic analysis company, appointed William J. Welch as CEO effective June 2014. Welch, the current President and COO will replace Harry F. Hixson, Jr., PhD, who is retiring. Hixson will continue to serve as Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors.

Suneva Medical

An aesthetics company, appointed Deepak Chadha to VP, Regulatory Affairs. Chadha will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of Suneva’s regulatory strategies. Chadha previously worked at KYTHERA Biopharmaceuticals and Allergan Medical.
