Mylan’s New Global Quality SVP

Mylan named Deborah M. Autor Senior Vice President, Strategic Global Quality and Regulatory Policy. At Mylan, she will seek to advance the company’s efforts to lead the establishment of one global quality standard for pharmaceutical products. Previously Autor served for 11 years at the FDA, where most recently she oversaw the Office of Regulatory Affairs and the Office of International Programs. There she led the implementation of FDA’s strategy for addressing the challenges of globalization and import safety and was responsible for 4,400 employees. Earlier, Autor served as director of the Office of Compliance in FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, where she led policymaking and enforcement for drug-related public health programs, including good manufacturing practices, human-subject protection and bioresearch monitoring, marketed unapproved drugs, pharmaceutical import and export, Internet and health fraud, over-the-counter monograph compliance, adverse-event reporting and drug recalls. In 2011 Autor was awarded both the Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award and the Food and Drug Law Institute’s Distinguished Service and Leadership Award.

 Teva Adds New Chief Strategy Officer

Paul J. Sekhri is appointed Group Executive Vice President, Global Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer at Teva. Sekhri will oversee Teva’s Strategy and Business Development group and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Israel.

Sekhri was previously Operating Partner and Head, Biotech Ops Group at TPG Biotech—the life science venture arm of the global private investment firm TPG—where he was responsible for a portfolio of more than 50 life science firms. Earlier he founded and was President and CEO of Cerimon Pharmaceuticals and before that President and Chief Business Officer of Ariad Pharmaceuticals.

AccentHealth

Dr. James Brownlee is now Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board at AccentHealth. Brownlee is also presently the Medical Director of Monsour Executive Wellness Center and formerly Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He has served as a member of the board for more than 15 years.

American College of Physicians

Kevin Bolum, Director of Advertising Sales for the American College of Physicians, is named winner in the Multi-Specialty Publication category of the 21st Annual AMM Nexus Sales Representatives of the Year Awards. At ACP,  Bolum represents Annals of Internal Medicine, ACP Hospitalist & ACP Internist in both print and digital. He also manages all advertising functions. He worked previously with Thomson/Medical Economics and McGraw-Hill.

Dudnyk

Dudnyk promoted Scott Harper to Vice President, Account Director and Dan Zaksas, PhD, to Vice President, Scientific Director. Harper has led account teams in campaign development, brand identity systems and product launches for top global brands at Dudnyk for five years, and previously at Cline Davis & Mann and GSW-Worldwide. Dr. Zaksas has authored many peer-reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals and served as Senior Medical Writer at Complete Healthcare Communications.

Eisai

Lynn Kramer, MD, accepted the newly created position of Chief Clinical Officer of Eisai Product Creation Systems, in which he will oversee the design of studies to achieve timely regulatory approval. Kramer will also continue in his current position as president of the Neuroscience and General Medicine Product Creation Unit. Dr. Kramer is a Fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He currently serves as industry representative on the Peripheral and CNS Drugs Advisory Committee of the FDA.

Evolution Marketing Research

David Hooper joined Evolution Marketing Research as Senior Director, Research. Hooper previously served as Director, Global Market Information & Research, at Warner Chilcott, where he implemented a new functional area consisting of market research, market analytics and forecasting. He developed a model for brand/market level forecasting and also created tools to support the company’s sales team. Earlier, he worked in market research at Merck and Schering-Plough.

Navigating Cancer

Suzanne Greenwood joined Navigating Cancer as Vice President, Bio-Pharmaceutical Services. Greenwood will drive the commercialization of new product and service offerings and expand the company’s reach to new partners. Previously, she was Global VP, Strategic Accounts, for InVentiv Health and VP of Sales for McKesson Specialty Solutions and Oncology Therapeutics Network. She spent 18 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb in several sales and medical management roles.

Pivotal Therapeutics

Dr. George Jackowski, Founder, Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer of Pivotal Therapeutics, was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his significant contribution to the Canadian biotech and pharmaceutical Industries. Prime Minister Stephen Harper presented the award. Dr. Jackowski founded 12 biotechnology companies in his career and holds several academic positions. Prior to Pivotal, he was Founder, Chairman, CEO and CSO at SynX Pharma. Dr. Jackowski developed the first rapid format cardiac test, a test currently used worldwide in hospitals and emergency rooms.

Sense4Baby

Sense4Baby, a startup developing a portable, remote, wireless maternal/fetal heart rate monitoring system for mothers in high-risk pregnancies, has named Jessica Grossman, M.D., its new president and chief executive officer. Most recently, Dr. Grossman was a medical director at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, where she supported one of the surgical instrument franchises.  Dr. Grossman trained as an obstetrician/gynecologist at Pennsylvania Hospital.

Spectrum Science

John Seng will receive the 2013 Frank J. Weaver Lifetime Achievement Award from the Public Relations Society of America Health Academy. Seng is founder and president of Spectrum, an independent PR firm in Washington, D.C. focused on health and science communications. He also chairs and co-founded GLOBALHealthPR, now the largest independent public relations group dedicated exclusively to health and medical communications worldwide. Seng worked in health PR at Pfizer and major agencies like Hill & Knowlton and InterScience for 30 years.
