Media Alert: Indigenous health, opioid crisis, cybersecurity, value-based healthcare: what do health leaders think?

OTTAWA, June 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The National Health Leadership Conference (NHLC) will release new and unprecedented survey research of health care leaders and the Canadian public on four important issues confronting the healthcare system on Monday, June 12, 2017.  The survey was conducted by Ipsos and commissioned by HealthCareCAN and the Canadian College of Health Leaders, co-hosts of NHLC.

These health leaders were surveyed on a range of critical issues within the four areas, including the extent to which discrimination is present in the provision of care for indigenous people, the adequacy of government strategies in response to the opioid crisis, their ability to respond to cyberthreats like ransomware, and the degree to which they use patient input in weighing whether they’re providing quality care.

Results reveal surprising insights on how health leaders and Canadians rate and perceive these important aspects of the healthcare system.

For an embargoed copy of the survey research and to arrange embargoed interviews, email Alexandria Rowe, HealthCareCAN at arowe@healthcarecan.ca or reach her by phone at 613 241-8005 x220/855-236-0213.

The NHLC communications office will be located in the Fraser Room of the Westin Bayshore Hotel on June 12-13.
