Intouch Doubles New York City Office
Intouch Solutions recently opened a new 17,000 square foot office in New York City. Chris Shirling, CFO, described the significance of the expansion to the “entrepreneurial innovative pharmaceutical marketing company.” With double the previous NY office size and the addition of another floor, Intouch will now have a larger base close to its many Northeastern clientele. While the location logistics prove beneficial, Shirling also stressed that the digitally rich, full-service agency excels at connecting their numerous clientele to the best talent—no matter the location.
Allscripts’ $185 Million Acquisition
A leader in healthcare technology, Allscripts recently announced their plans to acquire McKesson’s Enterprise Information Solutions business. The acquisition includes McKesson Corporation’s hospital and health system IT business and Enterprise Information Solutions, and is slated to happen early in the fourth quarter of 2017 for a price of $185 million in cash.
Allscripts Chief Executive Officer Paul M. Black addressed the acquisition, stating, “The healthcare IT market remains highly fragmented. Today’s announcement is a proactive and strategic measure to maintain Allscripts long-term leadership and position Allscripts for continued growth.”
Cardinal Health Acquires Three Medtronic Businesses for $6.1 Billion
Cardinal Health recently acquired three of Medtronic’s businesses for $6.1 billion in cash. The transaction includes Medtronic’s Deep Vein Thrombosis (Compression), Patient Care, and Nutritional Insufficiency business in the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. Headquartered in Dublin, Medtronic is one of the largest medical technology solutions and services companies globally, employing more than 91,000 around the world.
INC Research and inVentiv Health Merge
INC Research becomes the first fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions organization after merging with InVentiv Health. The new company will be known as INC Research/inVentiv Health until they re-launch in 2018 under a new brand. This merger combines INC’s background as a leading global Phase I-IV Contract Research Organization (CRO) and inVentiv’s experience as a privately held global CRO and Contract Commercial Organization (COO).
PulseCX Opens West Coast Office
A new west coast office has been added to the list of locales for the growing PulseCX, a full-service healthcare marketing agency. The new office in Costa Mesa, CA will maintain the company’s focus in specializing and optimizing customer experience (CX) whether with pharma brands, OTC products, or medical devices. They are able to maintain that focus by utilizing behavioral sciences, brand building, and direct marketing.
