Klick Health Wins Supernova Award
Winning in the category of Technology Optimization and Innovation, Klick Health was recognized for spearheading a management tool called Genome, a custom-built intranet with a full suite of tools aimed at managing time, budgets and people. ACP Creates Digital Advertising Network
American College of Physicians announced that it created its own Digital Advertising Network to internally handle the advertising sales for its websites, e-newsletters, e-TOC and mobile applications. Kevin Bolum, Director of Advertising Sales for ACP stated that “the recent launch of our Annals of Internal Medicine iPad app presented an opportunity for us to re-evaluate the positioning of all of our digital assets and invest our efforts on our internal digital infrastructure and capabilities.”
AccentHealth Acquires Havas’ Impact Wallboard Business
The acquisition adds substantial reach to AccentHealth’s existing “health panel” media business and expands their point-ofcare network to 26,000 offices and over 63,000 physicians. AccentHealth also plans to launch a suite of new cross-platform interactive products to complement its existing digital waiting room television network. Havas’ Wallboards are wall-mounted displays that showcase relevant, advertiser-supported educational content around health and wellness.
Rx EDGE Changes Its Name
The Illinois-based marketing company that helps pharma companies achieve optimal patient adherence and patient acquisition, changed its name to Rx EDGE Pharmacy Networks to better reflect their expertise and emphasize retail pharmacy as a significant healthcare channel. According to President and CEO Jim O’Dea, “This name change gives us a greater opportunity to communicate the value of pharmacy as a media vehicle.”
Physicians Interactive Acquires InfoMedics
Physicians Interactive, which this year launched successful eSampling and eCoupon programs, as well as a philanthropic initiative called Health eVillages, announced the purchase of InfoMedics, a company that designs and delivers interactive patient communication programs. The acquisition gives Physicians Interactive, a provider of online point of care, clinical resources and solutions for HCPs a platform to better connect physicians and patients and improve patient adherence to their prescriptions.
StoneArch Debuts iPad App
Created exclusively for the medical device industry, VOLLEY is a customizable iPadbased mobile platform that helps sales reps to work effectively across diverse target audiences. VOLLEY allows for content customization and features a sales rep coaching tool to help reps handle customer objections. Jessica Boden, StoneArch’s President, believes that VOLLEY “will help accelerate the time it takes for market intelligence from the field to get back to marketing teams.”
FDA Announces New Partnership
In a public-private partnership, the FDA will work with the new Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC), an independent, non-profit organization. Through the partnership they will prioritize the regulatory science needs of the medical device industry, pool resources and fund projects to help streamline the process of medical device innovation, development and review to bring these products to market faster and at lower cost.
GSK ranks on Top
The Access to Medicines (ATM) Index, created by the international non-profit organization, Access to Medicines Foundation, measures the performance of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies on the basis of their efforts to improve access to medicines and healthcare in developing countries. This year, GlaxoSmithKline ranked on top for the third time, scoring the highest in four categories. Johnson & Johnson ranked second and Sanofi was third.
