The Beach Bash is an annual event hosted by Autism Family Services of New Jersey for individuals and their families living with autism spectrum disorders. This free event, held each September in Belmar, includes organized activities, a DJ, an arts and crafts booth, informational vendors, lunch, beach games and more. For this year’s 8th annual event the team at healtheo360 (a patent pending, rapidly growing online Caring Network and social media community) joined 5,000 people on the beach, while 300 children participated in a free surf camp held by Surfer’s Healing, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people living with autism by teaching them how to surf. The healtheo360 team visited with most of the children and ran the “Angry Birds” game. In this live-action version kids had to throw balls (with the faces of the birds from the popular mobile game) and try to knock down a tower of sandcastle molds. Angry? Nah. Just a lot of fun!

Clockwise, from top left: david s. duplay, Chairman of healtheo360, was able to get into the surfing spirit while remaining on dry land. Kids got to enjoy fun with arts and crafts, including making their own caps. Kids who participated in the surfer’s healing free surf camp got a trophy to remind them of the fun they had trying something new. The nonprofit surfer’s healing held free surf lessons for anyone looking for a little excitement. david s. duplay cheers on kids as they participate in the healtheo360’s “angry Birds” game.
