Mitchell Medland, Jr., MBA, MHA has proven along every step of his career that he is not only able to excel in the given role, but he can inspire his colleagues to explore new pathways to success.
His career at Pfizer began 10 years ago in Sales and Sales Leadership, serving as a District Business Manager for the Primary Care Business Unit in California. During his time in the position, he managed a large and diverse portfolio of brands across a broad spectrum of specialties. And he got results: His district’s success consistently exceeded revenue targets. Plus, Mitchell earned the Bruce Haskitt Leadership Award in 2011, and his Manager Effectiveness Index and Employee Engagement Scores repeatedly ranked in the top quartile each year.
In his next role as a Key Account Manager, Mitchell proved to be quick at adapting to the evolving healthcare marketplace. He developed novel collaborations with Integrated Delivery Networks, Accountable Care Organizations, quality improvement organizations, medical groups, and more. He specialized in the areas of population health management, quality, and adherence, and he took what he learned and applied it to his work on Lyrica where, as a Senior Marketing Manager, Mitchell is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the Medical Group/Integrated Delivery Network book of business.
For example, he recently deployed two innovative tools to assist organized customers in managing painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy and fibromyalgia—conditions low on clinician’s radar, yet costly if not appropriately diagnosed and treated. The first tool assists organizations in implementing a standardized approach to identification, diagnosis, and treatment. Meanwhile, the second tool helps organizations build American Diabetes Association and American Academy of Neurology guidance into their clinical workflow through EHR integration.
