A Builder of Educational Teams
Laura Catalusci, MA, MCHES – Executive Director, YuzuZest an IPG Health Company
Laura Catalusci MA, MCHES® has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the health education profession. She knows that better health outcomes in the pharmaceutical area depend on people understanding patients’ condition, why they were prescribed a medication, how to take it, and being surrounded by ongoing education, support, and empathy.
Laura joined IPG Health almost 13 years ago and immediately changed how the network communicates with patients and caregivers. She launched the Health Education Strategy department (now known as Learning Strategy), a first-of-itskind across healthcare communications agencies, because she understood that better health outcomes depend on deeper understanding. Laura’s focus is to make sure people have the tools and resources they need and that they are communicated to in a relevant and digestible manner to help them achieve their health goals. She founded a more inclusive approach built on pillars of empathy, utility, literacy, and accessibility.
In 2020, she co-founded the award-winning specialty agency YuzuYello, an IPG Health company, dedicated to providing crucial support to patients navigating the complexities of healthcare. This new offering not only showcased her adaptability but also highlighted her unwavering commitment to patientcentric care in the face of unprecedented challenges.
Under Laura’s leadership, YuzuYello collaborated with NYC Health and Hospitals to launch an impactful COVID vaccination campaign. It was designed to increase COVID vaccine uptake in underserved populations across NYC, addressing a critical public health need during the pandemic. The campaign was disseminated across a myriad of print and digital channels, translated into 11 languages, with 23,500+ ‘make an appointment’ clicks after only 1 week, creating a total of 63,000,000 impressions in 2 months.
In April of 2024, based on the need to create more engaging, CHES-based experiences with patient ambassadors, Laura launched YuzuZest, an IPG Health company which enables recruitment of patients who want to advocate for their condition.
