Nicholas Capanear
Executive Craft Director
Intouch Group, an EVERSANA company
A Master of His Craft
With more than 20 years’ experience in advertising and marketing, Nicholas Capanear brought an award-winning creative energy when he joined Intouch in March 2021. Among those awards was being named an ELITE Creative Director in 2018, and here he is again proving that Nick is truly a master in our industry.
His motto has long been “Only the smartest ideas, uncompromisingly crafted.” According to Nick, craft is “what turns something average into something groundbreaking. It’s what causes the audience to take a closer look instead of overlooking something altogether.” That mindset has propelled him through every creative challenge in his career and helped drive business for many of healthcare’s biggest names, including Amgen, Eli Lilly, and Bristol Myers Squibb.
He has garnered numerous industry creative honors and has been appointed a jury member with some of advertising’s most prestigious shows, including D&AD, The One Show, Communication Arts, Clio Health, Graphis, and The London International Awards (LIA), where he also serves as a mentor for junior creatives.
Pharma and healthcare used to play second fiddle to consumer advertising, regularly lagging behind in both strategic and creatively effective work. That dynamic is changing for sure, and Nick is part of the reason why. He has elevated the bar, putting healthcare creative at the top of countless lists—even when competing against agencies outside the traditional healthcare space.
Before joining Intouch, Nick led his prior agency to a top 5 ranked position in the U.S. in Lürzer’s Archive magazine, a creative barometer widely considered advertising’s “craft holy book.” He’s been published within it himself 57 times in his career; he finished 2021 as their #2 ranked Creative Director in the world, and #1 Art Director.
“I have personally worked with Nick at two agencies and can attest to his vision and talent,” says Intouch Group Chief Creative Officer, Susan Perlbachs. “He has a discerning aesthetic—and killer ideas!”
