HAE Digital Lead
Ashley Strass is dedicated to helping people with Hereditary Angioedema (HAE)—a disease characterized by recurrent episodes (also called attacks) of severe swelling of the skin and mucous membranes—live better lives. And she has found digital to be the perfect channel to offer them the resources and support they need.
Ashley understands that making a diagnosis for a rare or genetic disease can often be challenging, so she focuses her digital strategy across her portfolio of brands to work tirelessly to find ways to shorten the time it takes for people with HAE to receive an accurate diagnosis and to help fill the gap in digital resources. But she also knows that her efforts must go beyond just helping patients identify their correct diagnosis.
With HAE patients, symptoms can change throughout their life, strike at any time, affect several sites on the body, and last from two to four days. So when it came time to relaunch DiscoverHAE.com, Ashley wanted the site to offer expanded resources and engaging content that would help diagnosed patients better manage this stressful and sometimes debilitating and embarrassing disease. She is also continuously pushing the status quo and optimizing her digital integrated ecosystem to drive patients to groundbreaking HAE treatment options.
Ashley excels in her position in other ways as well, including using digital and social channels to help patients struggling with their rare disease find resources and a treatment solution as well as take the time to learn from them. By collaborating with patients and caregivers directly affected by HAE, she is able to develop stellar materials and create connections to help better serve the HAE community.
One of her agency leads at Intouch Solutions says, “I have had the pleasure of working with Ashley for two years now, and I truly admire her dedication to the HAE community and her passion for digital marketing. Ashley’s digital expertise and forward-thinking are second to none and have contributed immensely to the success of our digital initiatives.”
