Dr. Steven Rosenthal Named Associate Chief Medical Officer for San Leandro Hospital

OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 26, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Alameda Health System (AHS) announced that Dr. Steven Rosenthal has been named Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) for San Leandro Hospital. As ACMO, he will work with AHS Chief Medical Officer Dr. William Peruzzi and SLH Chief of Staff Dr. Deepak Dhawan in overseeing the delivery of health care to patients at San Leandro Hospital (SLH). SLH is a community-based hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient services including surgical and intensive care, 24-hour emergency services, and a range of ancillary services such as imaging, laboratory testing, and rehabilitation therapy to the residents of San Leandro, California.

“Dr. Rosenthal is an amazing physician who was trained at Highland Hospital and has dedicated his life to improving the health of the East Bay community,” Dr. Peruzzi. “His 15 plus years in hospital management will be invaluable as San Leandro Hospital positions itself to best meet the changing needs of its community.”

Along with his work at SLH, Dr. Rosenthal has a private medical practice and is certified in internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative care. In 2008, Eden Medical Center honored him with their Physician Patient Safety Champion award, and named him Physician of the Year in 2009. Dr. Rosenthal has served in several leadership roles including SLH’s Department of Medicine Chief, SLH Chief of Staff and Eden Medical Center’s Chief of Staff.
