Your new tagline is “at the heart of what matters.” What does that mean in terms of your approach?
Jon Sawyer: We fuse insight, strategy, creative, and technology to help brands achieve what matters most, which is better patient outcomes and bigger business impact. closerlook is committed to uncovering what’s truly meaningful and to making a positive difference.

How do you gain insights into a target audience?
At closerlook, we understand that patients, HCPs, and caregivers are real people who continually change. Our understanding of them should also continually change. We call this the ongoing endeavor of empathy, and it informs everything we do from start to finish to start again.

How else are you ensuring you reach target audiences with relevant messaging?
We capture, analyze, and synthesize various sources of brand data and then design multichannel campaigns to connect with customers at the moment of truth. It’s that point in time when a customer’s pressing question meets a brand’s perfect answer. It’s magic when it’s meaningful.

What are some examples of “meaningful” campaigns your agency has completed?
We connected patients with rare diseases on social channels they already access daily and delivered content that encourages them to share their journey and experience.

We helped diabetic patients battle the psychological, social, and financial burdens they face by enlisting authentic celebrity endorsement and building first-in-class financial tools.

We helped patients with chronic gout get the treatment they need by changing HCPs’ perceptions of the disease. Leveraging the iPad’s animation capabilities and Veeva’s CRM platform, we converted clinical content into an interactive visual aid, providing a branded experience no print sales aid can deliver.
