The Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) provides nearly 9,000 global community network members, including registered nurses, clinical nurse navigators, social workers, non-licensed clinical patient navigators, and other oncology professionals, the resources and support needed to advance the role of patient navigation and manage the complexities of the cancer care coordination continuum.
The pillars of this organization are built around navigation core competencies and knowledge domains, standardized metrics, accredited certification, a professional dissemination platform, and ongoing navigation projects with national committee support. AONN+ is a trusted resource for all navigators.
AONN+ completed a first-of-its-kind collaborative national multisite navigation metrics quality study in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, The Chartis Group, and Chartis Oncology Solutions, LLC. This pioneering study provided key findings that measure and demonstrate the impact of oncology navigation on quality cancer care delivery, return on investment, patient experience, and program sustainability.
