A Little Help for Spring Cleaning

Spring is right around the corner, which means it is about time for everyone’s favorite ritual—spring cleaning. However, if for some reason the thought of dusting, washing, sorting, and organizing doesn’t excite you, then here are some of the more recently released cleaning-associated technology to help make the job of keeping your home spick and span a little easier.

Robot Vacuum: Less Work for You

Roborock’s latest robot vacuum, the S8 Pro Ultra ($1,599.99 in April 2023), tries to take as much work out of your hands as possible. Its RockDock Ultra system will self clean the vacuum after its use, including washing and drying the mop to prevent mold growth, emptying dust into a bag that needs to be changed every seven weeks, refilling the tank with fresh water for mopping, and even cleaning the bottom of the dock for better maintenance. When cleaning your home, its VibraRise 2.0 Mopping System will scrub floors with sonic mopping technology and automatically lift when vacuuming carpets.

Steam Mop: A No Chemical Clean

Steam-cleaning devices like BLACK+DECKER’s Multipurpose Steam Cleaning System ($85) allow you to kill up to 99.9% of germs while removing particularly stubborn dirt and grime by using only water—no cleaning chemicals needed. This steam mop from BLACK+DECKER comes with six attachments that help you to shift from mop to handheld device to reach a variety of surfaces from sealed floors to shower doors to countertops and more. You can also spring and get a seventh attachment ($129 total), which also lets you steam your garments.

Power Scrubber: For Hard-to-Reach Places

Grout lines, tight spaces between faucets, shower corners, and other hard-to-reach places are much easier to clean with the Rubbermaid Reveal Power Scrubber ($29). Resembling an electric toothbrush on steroids, it is designed to help you clean up to twice as fast than manual scrubbing thanks to an oscillating head that scrubs 60 times per second. It has two settings—pulse and continuous scrubbing—and six different head attachments, so you can adjust based on the space and task at hand.

Stick Vacuum: No Dust Left Behind

Samsung’s Bespoke Jet ($899.99) is a cordless vacuum cleaner that traps 99.999% of micro-dust particles and filters them through a five-layer filtration system, so only clean air is released back into your home from the vacuum. Additionally, its All-in-One Clean Station not only charges the device, but with a press of a button it will also automatically empty the dustbin using Air Pulse technology to ensure no fine dust particles escape. It also comes with an extra battery (each can last for an hour on a full charge), so you can extend your cleaning time if needed.

Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner: Out Damn Spot

Named by Better Homes & Gardens as the “Best Cleaner for Pet Messes” in 2022, the HOOVER CleanSlate Pet Carpet & Upholstery Spot Cleaner ($151.97) combines nontoxic cleaning formulas with fast-acting spot scrubbing to remove deep dirt, stains, and pet messes from your carpet and furniture. It comes with tools including a 7-inch WidePath attachment for larger messes, a hose rinse that flushes any left behind dirt out of the device, and the TightSpot Tool to reach those nooks and crannies around baseboards, in-between coach cushions, and around furniture.
