The Party’s Been Over. Preparing for Policy Changes in 2009

From a legislative standpoint, the pharmaceutical and biotech industry faces a very busy—and challenging—year in 2009. The democrats have taken control of the White House and strengthened their grip on both houses of Congress, meaning that many existing pieces of legislation that had been tied up in Congress (or held back by the threat of a Presidential veto) will likely move forward. In addition, there are more than a few new legislative ideas that will burst on to the scene during the year.
