THE PM360 TRAILBLAZER AWARDS 2010 PHARMA/BIOTECH COMPANY OF THE YEAR WINNER AstraZeneca is not afraid to change. In a year in which traditional modes of communication were in flux and the market more challenging than ever, AstraZeneca introduced a bold new sales and marketing paradigm called Customer Driven Interaction (CDI), whose success promises to be widely influential in the industry. That’s one reason they won the 2010 Trailblazer Award for Pharma/Biotech Company of the Year. |

It was well ahead of its peers in understanding the importance of sustainability goals and continues to pursue them aggressively. It is building for the future in emerging healthcare markets. It has a distinguished record of promoting high ethical standards. THE PM360 TRAILBLAZER AWARDS 2010 ADVERTISING AGENCY OF THE YEAR WINNER Harrison and Star The truly great healthcare advertising agencies are not only clever when it comes to slogans and eye-grabbing graphics—but in finding new ways to reach and understand audiences. By creating a work environment that both breeds creativity and cultivates talent. By going above and beyond reaching physicians and patients, and not just marketing drugs that treat diseases but giving back to suffering patients. Harrison and Star excels in each of these areas, making them truly deserving of the title Agency of the Year. |

THE PM360 TRAILBLAZER AWARDS 2010 SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR WINNER Healthy Advice Networks Frankly, Healthy Advice Networks doesn’t need another award. Not only do they have plenty of awards already, they even broke the record for the number of awards won by a single company at the 2009 National Health Information Awards, with 43. That’s one for every three employees. But we really had no choice, because the company has latched onto one of the most powerful marketing ideas we know of—transforming doctors’ offices into sites of continuous, real-time, customizable health information programming— compellingly presented on 27- to 32-inch LCD flat screens. And this is only part of the story, as the company’s patient education mission extends to a wide range of brochures, anatomical flip-charts, ads, and videos. With over 53,000 physician participants in the U.S., Healthy Advice Networks is obviously in a powerful position to provide value for stakeholders. |

THE PM360 TRAILBLAZER AWARDS 2010 BRAND MANAGER OF THE YEAR WINNERS The PM360 Brand Manager Awards in 14 major disease categories recognize brand and marketing managers who made major contributions to the success of their brands and companies. The winners were chosen based on the leadership, skill, and originality shown in work which came to fruition in the past year. They designed carefully orchestrated national campaigns, transformed company marketing operations, and pioneered new marketing techniques, in many cases a creative blend of new technology with an old-fashioned understanding of what moves the customer. They often had the courage to stick with their ideas in the face of skepticism and adverse market conditions. In many cases, the result was greater patient awareness as well as greater access to vital drugs. We congratulate them all. |

THE PM360 TRAILBLAZER AWARDS 2010 INITIATIVES OF THE YEAR WINNERS The PM360 Trailblazer Initiative Awards recognize outstanding healthcare marketing and public relations programs and publications in 14 categories. We assessed the strategy, planning, and execution of the programs and the challenges and budgetary constraints they had to overcome in a tough year for marketers. The winners demonstrated innovative and effective techniques for solving a host of challenges: marketing new kinds of products, reaching hard-to-reach HCPs, educating the sales force, leveraging social networking sites, arresting the attention of patients with elegant creative and simple and powerful messaging, using video to mold a company image, and many more. For the consumer and professional publications, recent editorial enhancements and innovations in design and format were assessed, as well as their mission and benefit to their readers. At a time when the publishing world is in flux, the winners have developed a rich variety of features across several media to meet the needs of both HCPs and patients. We congratulate all of our initiative winners. |
