Healthcare companies send out steady streams of email, always hoping to grab physicians’ attention. It turns out physicians in some specialties are more likely to actually open the messages and click-through. According to SK&A’s Email Performance Archive, in the second half of 2010, preventative medicine specialists (3.4%), bariatricians (3.2%), and sleep medicine specialists (2.3%) had the highest click-through rates of emails sent by SK&A on behalf of its healthcare clients.
MAYBE HARD WORK WILL KILL YOU
Those extra hours at the office had better pay off professionally,because they may be costing you years of your life. People who work 11 hours or more a day increase their risk of heart attack or dying from heart disease by 67%, compared to people who work a standard 9-to-5, according to an April Annals of Internal Medicine report. Researchers at University College London followed 7,095healthy civil-service employees in the United Kingdom for 12 years.Over that time, 192 of the participants suffered heart attacks.Those who worked between 10 and 11 hours a day also saw a spike in their risk of heart disease—an increase of 45%, according to U.S.News Health. “This study might make us think twice about the old adage ‘hard work won't kill you,’” Professor Stephen Holgate of the Medical Research Council, which aided with the research’s funding, told BBC News.…
