Everyone loves new technology and the latest trendy products. Our Cutting Edge section highlights some of the new and upcoming gadgets that will turn heads and make wallets cry.
Droid Does What?
Motorola’s Droid ($200 to $600) has the tagline Droid Does, so what is it exactly that this smartphone does?
It does fast—with Android 2.0 software, a Cortex A8 Processor, and a 3G Network. It does apps—with over 10,000 available and the ability to switch among up to 6 apps at once. It does voice-activated search for your contact list and Google Web, and it does talk back with Google Maps Navigation’s turn-by-turn directions. It also pushes both Gmail and Exchange emails to one color-coded inbox. And it does it all while providing one rich picture on a 3.7-inch WVGA display with a 440x854 resolution. Plus the Droid includes a 13.7 mm QWERTY slider, a 5-megapixel camera, and a USB 2.0 port for charging and data transfers. Droid
Curves are IN
See more than you ever have on one computer screen with the world’s first curved desktop monitor. The Ostendo CRVD Curved Display ($6,499) is an ultra-wide 43-inch 32:10 LED display with a 2880x900 resolution and blistering response time of less than 0.02 milliseconds. This curved screen engages more of the eye to supply an unmatched viewing experience.

No special hardware or software is required, so just plug it in and enjoy the view. CRVD
Curl Up with a Nook

You can lend your favorite eBooks with Barnes & Noble’s Nook ($259). This e-reader can send eBooks to another Nook, computer, iPhone, or iPod touch for up to 14 days at a time free. The Nook also features a dual screen with an easy-to-read E Ink display and a color touchscreen for browsing titles or searching with a virtual keyboard. You can sample eBooks for free or purchase and download titles in seconds with free access to AT&T’s 3G Wireless Network or the free Wi-Fi available at all Barnes & Noble stores. Nook
Think Thin

Dell’s Adamo XPS ($1,998) is the world’s thinnest laptop at 9.99mm with an innovative design that places the keyboard at an angle when opened and that seems to disappear when closed. A swipe of your finger over the latch release unlocks the laptop to reveal the vibrant 13.4-inch HD widescreen WLED display. Thanks to a Windows 7 gadget, the Adamo can recognize where you are and provide location-specific content such as weather updates once you’re online. It comes equipped with the 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low-voltage processor, 4GB RAM, and a 128GB solid-state drive. Adamo
